Fix Service Host: Local System network usage/ bandwidth clogging/ slow internet/ windows update

Is your bandwidth being used somewhere else? Is your browsing and downloading speed getting too slow? Here’s a quick fix for those people whose bandwidth is being clogged by a process called ‘ Service host: Local Service (Network Restricted) (*number*) ’.
First you’ll have to check whether the same case is for your PC too or not. For this, open ‘Task Manager’ and then click on ‘Network’.

If you see something similar to the above image then yes, BITS is eating up all of your bandwidth.
Background Intelligence Transfer Service is a component of Microsoft Windows. It basically uses computer’s idle bandwidth and facilitates transferring data between your machine and the server. It is used by Windows Update, Microsoft Update or System Updates.

So, to eliminate this error follow these simple steps:
1. Go to 'Start' and search for 'Run' or simply press 'Win+R'.
2. A box will open. Type 'services.msc' and press OK.
3. A window will open by the name 'Services' then in the list given below search for 'Background Intelligence Transfer Service'.
4. Now right click and open it's properties. A window will open showing it's attributes.

5. Here, first stop the service using the 'stop' button and the from the drop-down menu click 'Disabled'.
Hence, restart your PC once and I hope your problem has been solved.
Have a Good Day! :D
